Castagneto's Food
“Come and eat at Castagneto’s Table” is a yearly review/exhibit of Castagneto’s and the Etruscan Coast’s food tradition. Every spring, wine tasting, restaurant dinners, taste laboratories, and guided tours to cellars are offered. In this area, both earthly and seafood cooking offer the tastiest dishes, accompanied by Bolgheri’s wines, which are amongst the world’s best. Fresh pasta items like tortelli, pappardelle, tagliolini, seasoned with vegetables and cheese, are prepared from scratch according to an ancient art. Game meals, and especially wild boar, as well as soups, barbecued meats, honey, wood fired bread, and cheese characterize the gastronomic tradition of the hinterland, and are prepared using original recipes and local products. And the most delicious seafood cuisine can be found in restaurants along the coast.
